Day 6555559888888822222222

We are officially over two weeks through camp - WooHooo!!! Well. that isn't technically true, we still do this all over again for second session, but first session is nearly done. Today is my day off and we are off tubing down a river. Half staff have one day off and the other half have the other. Each of those days (4 per session) are special event days - it trip days or bunk bonding days.
Last night was "steal the camp" where the totems (oldest girls, 15 yr olds) take over by taking all the campers and most of the staff hostage until the leadership give in to certain demands, such as hot chocolate at breakfast and a later curfew. In a few days time will be Break Out for colour war. This happens when something crazy happens and the whole of camp activities stop. One year a helicopter arrived, another year all the staff dressed up and danced. At these times, something ie tennis balls is released with each camper and counsellors name and a colour on (red, yellow blue or green). The camp then competes within these colour teams for about 2-3 days and someone wins - woop!!!
Over the last few days I have done three overnights and two hikes. Overnights leave before dinner and return at breakfast time. We take about 20 chidlren and their counsellors and sleep in tents. The last two have been on an island in the middle of "our" lake -  a lot of fun travelling over in a speed boat :) The hikes have been on local mountains, and any girls in either upper or lower camp (dependant on the level of hike) can sign up.
Off out for the day - byeeeeeeeeeeeee
